Parnassus Club Winners Receive Scholarships to Attend Barton
Parnassus Club conducted its annual voice and piano auditions March 8 at Barton County Community College. Participating in the auditions were 30 area high school students.
Voice winner was Carmen Burrow of Great Bend, student of Glenna Gaunt, and piano winner was Sharon Radenberg, Claflin, student of Darlene Boley. In addition to Parnassus Club honors, each winner received a $500 renewable scholarship to attend Barton. Fine Arts department chair and choral music instructor Vern Fryberger presented the scholarships.
Judging the event were Bradford Nix, piano instructor from Sterling College, and Holly Schwartezendruber, voice instructor from Tabor College.
