Dealing with Loss Is Continuing Nursing Education Topic at Barton
Barton County Community College will offer a Continuing Nursing Education seminar titled “Dealing with Loss and Stress Busting.” The class will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 24 and 25, in the college’s Fine Arts Building Seminar Room, F-30. Check-in will be at 8 a.m. June 24. Speaker is Jenni Reling.
This seminar is for registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, licensed mental health technicians, social workers, adult care home administrators and other health care professionals. The college is approved as a provider of Continuing Nursing Education by the Kansas State Board of Nursing.
Prepaid registration fee is $74 if prepaid by June 17. All other registrations after June 17 are $84. This course offers 15 Continuing Nursing Education Hours and 7.5 Administrator Hours in Administration.
On the first day of the seminar, participants will learn to recognize the stages of grief, describe conditions that might create grief responses, and discuss effective, healthy methods for dealing with personal grief issues. On the second day, participants will identify sources of stress in today’s environment and learn how activities or actions and humor can help manage stress.
