Barton Offers Activity Director/Social Service Designee Course

Barton County Community College will offer an Activity Director/Social Service Designee course beginning June 6 at the Great Bend Workforce Center, 1025 Main.

The course is for certified nurse aides, occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants interested in positions as activity directors and social service designees in nursing facilities.

Classes will meet from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, June 6-28. Check-in will be at 7 a.m. June 6. Core classes, required for both Activity Director and Social Service Designee training, will meet June 6, 7, 13 and 14.

Social Service Designee classes will meet June 20 and 21 and Activity Director classes will meet June 27 and 28. Rhonda Riedel is the instructor.

Pre-registration is required. Fees for the classes including textbooks are as follows: Core, $191; Social Service Designee, $124; Activity Director, $124. The fee for all three sections including textbooks is $325.
