Barton Alum Earns Promotion in Support Services for Kansas Highway Patrol
Mark A. Bruce has been promoted to major of the Support Services Section for the Kansas Highway Patrol. Bruce joined the patrol in June 1989. He has worked in the Research and Planning Section of general headquarters in Topeka, as lieutenant and captain of Emergency Operations and captain of homeland security.
As major of the Support Services Section, Bruce will oversee government and public affairs, central communications and the criminal justice information systems, the KHP Training Academy and human resources.
Bruce has an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Barton County Community College, a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Kansas, and a master's degree in criminal justice from Washburn University.
