Barton Offers Computer Necessities Workshop

Barton County Community College will offer a basic computer workshop titled “Computer Necessities.” The class will meet from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, Jan. 9 through Feb. 6, at the Great Bend Workforce Center, 1025 Main.

Kay Boyd is the instructor. Participants will learn the basic functions of the computer and become familiar with Microsoft Word. They will learn how to access the Internet and use e-mail. They also will gain a basic knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and templates for creating schedules and calendars.

Pre-registration is required. The fee is $18 for Silver Cougar Club members. For all other participants, the fee is $67. For more information or to enroll, contact the BCCC Foundation Office, 620-786-1136.

The Silver Cougar Club is for individuals 55 or older and their spouses. Members enjoy a variety of social events planned throughout the year, a quarterly newsletter, special recognition during college-sponsored events and special low-cost trips.
